Hello, we are Harvey and Elliot. Remember us at St. John's for the morning service on Sunday 3rd September. We let you through the gates at the church porch. You all made us feel so very welcome. We stopped for the service with my granddad (we call him Nandad). He had to go to St. John's to take the keys for the bell-ringers. We had a go tolling the small bell before the other ringers arrived. It was great fun. Bob and Wendy were already there helping to do teas for everyone. When the other ringers Denise, Richard (D), Andy, June, Mary and Pam arrived all eight of them rang the bells before the service. Nandad stopped to play with us.

We started playing with the toys. The quietest thing for us to do during the service was cutting out shapes and colouring pictures that Eva gave to us. This is the picture Harvey did. Nandad tried to sing to the hymns and he did pray a bit in between giving us biscuits left by Wendy. We joined everyone for the Peace (but because we are so small some people did not see us). It was so easy to say "peace be with you." Nandad then gave us some money to put into a big wooden dish. Why is it called the plate?  We also stopped colouring and cutting and went with Nandad for a very long walk up the steps over the red carpet and stopped at the wooden bar. The friendly man in white patted our heads and wished us well. Nandad had a little biscuit and a sip of red drink from a shiny cup. We then walked back though the singers on the very long way back. Nandad had got one more biscuit for us. When the singing stopped we picked up all the paper bits from under our table and Nandad put all the toys back. Thanks for making us so welcome, everyone was so friendly. Our local church is St. Barnabas in Erdington, they are friendly there too, but your biscuits are better.
